30th November 2020 - Year 6 Remote Learning

Dear Parents/Carers,

From Wednesday 2nd November until Tuesday 8th November, I will be running 3 online teaching session every day. I will meet the children on Microsoft Teams to give them the lesson input before they then complete the work themselves after the online session.

The times are as follows:

  • 9:30am Meet on Teams to register and receive English input
  • 11:00am Meet on Teams to receive maths input
  • 2pm Meet on Teams to receive input on our Theology topic on Moses

Please then ensure that the work that the children complete is then uploaded onto MS Teams or emailed to ready for feedback from myself. The year 6 email will be checked daily and we will do our best to reply by the next school day. If you have concerns that are more immediate, please contact the school office for support.

I would like to record my online session so that children are able to revisit these if needed. The recordings that are made on Teams will only be shared to our class on Teams and will be deleted once we are back to learning in school.

If you or your child are concerned about this, please contact the school office. I would like to thank you for support and wish you all well.

Best wishes,

27th November 2020 - Year 6 Isolation from 30.11.2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to inform you it is with great regret that, due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 we are forced to close school for Year 6 from Monday 30th November 2020.

I would like to make it clear that this is not due to a confirmed COVID-19 case. We have to take this action because of isolation and bubble requirements in place to restrict the spread of the virus. We do not have the staff capacity to safely have year 6 in school whilst maintaining a COVID-safe environment.

Children within Year 6 will be sent home as usual today and their first day back at school will be Wednesday 9th December 2020 as long as we have capacity to resume normal teaching. Your child does not need to isolate during this time and can accompany you whilst bringing any siblings in other year groups to school.

Our Year 6 pupils have made a great start to this very unusual school year and I know that it is not ideal that they are not able to attend school for this period of time. It is now our priority for their learning to continue.

By the end of the day today, your child will take home a learning pack including handwriting activities and maths tasks. We will also email you a learning pack that has a clear outline of activities to complete while at home for next week so that the children are still continuing with their topics during this difficult time. All work must be sent to the email address for someone to mark and give feedback on. This email address will go live on Monday.

Mr Carver will meet all pupils on Microsoft Teams at 2pm on Monday 30th November 2020 to check through how pupils are getting on. The office team will email out all pupils Microsoft Teams Password and login information ready for Monday.

I will write to you again by Tuesday to share with you the timings for online lessons for the rest of the week.

I understand that you may have questions about the content of this letter, so please do get in touch with your name and contact details to discuss any questions or concerns by contacting the school office.

Thank you for your continued support,

Yours sincerely,

Miss Hunter
