Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra visit
On Wednesday last week, we were very fortunate to have a visit from a quartet from the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra, along with colleagues from the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. The musicians performed 'The Lark's flight over Suffolk' which is based on Ralph Vaughan Williams' well known classic 'The Lark Ascending' 🎼. The quartet also played other well known classical pieces including 'Clair De Lune' by Claude Debussy 🌒.
The mucicians who joined us were highly professional and talented, with one performing in The Phantom of the Opera every evening in London, another for the film score of Harry Potter, and another for Stars Wars! 🎭 They showed the children their instruments, talked about how they have become musicians, and all of the wonderful opportunities that this has given them in their lives. 🎷🎸🎻🪕
The faces of the children really shone with enjoyment and excitement, so much so that there was an unprompted standing ovation at the end! 👏 It was a joy to see how the beautiful music enthralled us all, and how the Orchestra's visit really inspired the creativity and imagination of all of our children. 🥰
