British Values

Phoenix St. Peter Academy and REAch2 are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our schools are a safe place for children, where our responsibilities for safeguarding children are taken seriously.

British Values

Phoenix St. Peter Academy actively promotes global education and encourages our schools through PSHE and after school clubs to develop their pupil's spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness through the education of countries, cultures and religious festivals.

As part of this, we recognise the British Values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Educate Against Hate

Phoenix St. Peter Academy actively promotes Educate Again Hate to safeguard pupils from radicalisation, to build resilience to all types of extremism and to promote shared values.

Prevent Duty

As part of our commitment to safeguarding and child protection, we fully support the government’s Prevent Strategy. The Prevent strategy is a government strategy designed to stop people becoming terrorists or extremism, or supporting terrorism or extremism. It is also designed to ensure that everybody respects the beliefs of others.

Channel Duty

It is the responsibility of every adult in our schools and communities to ensure that we maintain the highest level of awareness about the risks and potential exposure to young people who may be vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism, extremism or radicalisation.

Phoenix St. Peter Academy is committed to the safeguarding of children in our schools and communities and fully support the government's Channel Programme, as part of our Safeguarding responsibilities.
